On March 13, the Bac Tra My Regional Medical Center (Da Nang City) informed that at about 10:35 am on March 12, the Department of Medical Examination - Emergency, Intensive Care and Poison Control of the Bac Tra My Regional Medical Center received 13 patients who were students of Nguyen Van Troi Secondary School (Tra My commune, Da Nang City) admitted to the hospital with symptoms suspected of food poisoning.
According to initial reports, the students showed signs of fatigue, abdominal pain, headache, nausea and vomiting. The onset of symptoms was around 8 am on the 12th. 3. All 13 students have been taken to medical facilities for monitoring and treatment. Currently, they are all awake, their health is basically stable and they are being discharged home.
Initial information gathered from students and the school shows that before symptoms appeared, they bought and drank milk tea at T.S. shop (Tra My Commune Center area) at about 4:30 PM on March 11.
Immediately after the incident occurred, the Bac Tra My Regional Health Center coordinated with relevant units to deploy epidemiological investigations, verify the incident; compile a list of students with symptoms; monitor and treat related cases. At the same time, functional agencies took stored food samples, remaining milk tea samples and milk tea samples from the shop that were processed on March 11th to send for testing.
Functional forces also guide parents to continue monitoring students' health at home, and at the same time coordinate with local authorities to inspect related milk tea establishments.
According to initial assessments, the above cases are suspected of food poisoning related to using milk tea bought at a shop outside the school. The specific cause is being further investigated by specialized agencies, awaiting test results.
