The total number of dengue fever cases accumulated from the beginning of 2025 to week 37 is 34,284 cases. Wards and communes with high numbers of cases include: Cu Chi, Tan Hiep, Thuan Giao.
There are 57/168 wards and communes with increased dengue fever cases compared to the average of the previous 4 weeks. Wards and communes of Ho Chi Minh City have increased the number of cases, including: Cho Lon, Phu Lam, Chanh Hung, Binh Quoi, Phuoc Long, Thu Duc, Tan Son Nhi, An Lac, Tan Tao, Dau Tieng, Tam Thang, Xuan Son, Tan Hai.
Thus, from the beginning of 2025 to week 37, Ho Chi Minh City has 34,284 cases of dengue fever, an increase of nearly 2.5 times compared to the same period in 2024. Of which, from week 22 to 33, the number of dengue fever cases increased the most. From week 34 - 37, the number of cases tends to decrease but is still higher than the same period in 2024 and the average of 5 years (from 2016 - 2023).
Notably, from the beginning of 2025 to week 37, Ho Chi Minh City has had 17 deaths from dengue fever, while in the same period in 2024, there were only 2 cases.
At the same time, in week 37, the city also recorded 472 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease, down 0.3% compared to the average of the previous 4 weeks. The total number of hand, foot and mouth disease cases accumulated from the beginning of 2025 to week 37 is 21,203 cases. Wards and communes with high numbers of cases include Di An, Nha Be and Dong Hoa.
To prevent hand, foot and mouth disease and dengue fever, people need to continue to take measures according to the recommendations of the health sector.
