Also in the past 24 hours, the whole province recorded a new case in the community in Co Lot village, Muong Nhe commune. The Department of Health said that this case has no epidemiological factors related to the outbreak in Nam Ke commune.
As of 5:00 p.m. on October 29, Dien Bien province has recorded a total of 163 cases of dysentery. Of which, 149 cases were from the Nam Ke commune outbreak and 14 cases were recorded outside the outbreak.
The whole province has had 134 cases treated and discharged from the hospital. There are 28 patients being treated (20 cases in Nam Ke commune and 8 cases at Muong Nhe Medical Center).
All patients are undergoing treatment and have stable health status. To date, dysentery has recorded 1 death in Nam Ke commune.

Also on October 29, Mr. Pham Giang Nam - Director of Dien Bien Department of Health - inspected the medical work in the first 9 months of the year at Na Sang and Muong Lay Medical Centers.
At the meeting, the Director of the Department of Health directed units to focus on implementing and completing tasks in 2025, especially the work of preventing epidemics such as dysentery and infectious diseases in the fall - winter.
