On February 15, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of Tan Phu Commune People's Committee (Nghe An province) said that immediately after receiving information that many customers eating bread at An Nhien restaurant showed signs of suspected food poisoning, functional agencies promptly intervened to verify.
According to this person, the commune police coordinated with the Health Station and related forces to inspect the facility; recorded many cases of symptoms of abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea after using bread at the restaurant. Patients were taken to Tan Ky Medical Center and some medical facilities in the area for monitoring and treatment.

In the immediate future, we direct medical facilities in the area to urgently provide emergency care and treatment for patients, ensuring health safety. At the same time, functional agencies have suspended the operation of An Nhien restaurant, sealed and taken food samples for preservation, serving the appraisal work.
We will coordinate with functional agencies to verify, clarify, and handle according to regulations; and at the same time recommend food business establishments and restaurants to strengthen food safety and hygiene assurance," said a representative of Tan Phu Commune People's Committee.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that many people in Tan Phu commune were hospitalized with symptoms of abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and headache after eating bread bought at An Nhien restaurant. The symptoms appeared about 3 hours after eating. Some people have sent petitions to the commune police requesting verification and clarification of the cause.
Currently, the number of affected people is being further statistically analyzed. The results of food sample testing and the specific cause of the incident will be informed by functional agencies after having an official conclusion.
