Pursuant to Article 3 of Decree 176/2025/ND-CP stipulating the social pension allowance level: Subjects specified in Article 2 of Decree 176/2025/ND-CP are entitled to receive monthly social pension allowance at the rate of VND 500,000/month.
Vietnamese citizens are entitled to social pension benefits when they meet the following conditions:
From 75 years old and above;
Not receiving monthly pension or social insurance benefits; or receiving monthly pension or social insurance benefits lower than the pension benefits prescribed in this Decree;
Having a written request to receive social pension benefits.
Vietnamese citizens from 70 years old to under 75 years old are poor households and near-poor households.
In case the subjects specified in Article 2 of Decree 176/2025/ND-CP are also subjects receiving monthly social allowances, they will receive a higher allowance.
Thus, subjects eligible for monthly social pension benefits and are also subjects receiving monthly social benefits will receive a social pension benefit regime higher than VND 500,000/month.
Depending on socio-economic conditions, the ability to balance the budget and mobilize social resources, the Provincial People's Committee shall submit to the People's Council of the same level a decision on additional support for social pension beneficiaries.
