On the evening of September 26, a clip appeared on social media recording a young man without a helmet driving a motorbike into the car lane on Nhat Tan bridge (Hanoi).
When approaching the middle of the bridge, the car suddenly swayed and fell down, sliding on the bridge surface, spreading fire. The young man driving the car also slipped.
Sharing with PV of Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Hai - the person who posted the clip said that the incident happened at around 6:20 p.m. on September 26. At this time, Hanoi is having rain.
According to Mr. Hai, before the motorbike fell, he saw the motorbike going at a very high speed. Fortunately, the vehicles behind controlled the speed, so there were no consecutive collisions. The young man then quickly stood up.
"At that time, I saw about 3-4 motorbikes entering the car lane. It is worth mentioning that they go faster than cars, which is very dangerous for themselves and other vehicles traveling on the same route," Mr. Hai shared.
Nhat Tan Bridge has now separated lanes for cars and motorbikes using a fixed iron fence. The lane division signs have been fully equipped.
The car network allows vehicles to move at high speeds from 80 - 90km/h. While the motorbike lane is only allowed to move at a speed of 40km/h. Motorbikes entering car lane poses a high risk of traffic accidents, causing serious consequences.
