Regarding the structure of parasites, there are 33 cases caused by Plasmodium falciparum and 18 cases caused by Plasmodium malariae.
According to statistics, in the period of 2021 - 2022, the malaria situation in Khanh Hoa was controlled with a very low number of cases (3 cases in 2021 and 12 cases in 2022).
However, from 2023, the epidemic began to increase again with 208 cases; in 2024, 199 cases were recorded. Notably, the number of cases increased early from the beginning of the year and lasted until the end of the rainy season.
To limit the risk of spreading, the People's Committees of communes are required to regularly update the list of people going to the forest, fields, and mobile people in the locality; at the same time, direct and mobilize inter-sectoral coordination with the Health Stations to drastically implement measures to prevent and control malaria.
The health sector recommends that people should proactively prevent diseases, especially those who often go to forests and fields.
Measures include: Sleeping in an anti- mosquito chemical mattress, not arbitrarily using medicine; when there are symptoms of fever, you need to go to a medical facility for testing, early diagnosis and treatment compliance.
