On June 6, Ho Chi Minh City Emergency Center 115 said that the unit had just coordinated smoothly between outpatients and inpatients to promptly save the life of a foreign mother who was severely beaten by a preeclampsia.
Previously, on the evening of June 3, the unit received an urgent call from a foreign mother L.Y.C (32 years old, living in District 10, Ho Chi Minh City) who was 26 weeks pregnant and was sitting in a park near her home and suddenly had a lot of vaginal bleeding.
Realizing this was an urgent obstetric emergency situation, the emergency team quickly departed within 3 minutes and arrived at the patient 10 minutes after receiving the call.
Upon arrival, the emergency team recorded that the mother had high blood pressure, a rapid heart rate, continuous vaginal bleeding and was being monitored for treatment of high-risk preeclampsia during pregnancy.
After 8 minutes of emergency travel from the initial emergency room to Hung Vuong Hospital, the mother was immediately admitted and diagnosed with severe preeclampsia and severe agony in the fetus. The on-duty team activated the emergency cesarean section (the fastest process in emergency gynecological surgery).
After 5 minutes of receiving the fluid, the doctors performed a surgery to catch the baby weighing 720 grams. Currently, the baby is receiving intensive care. The mother continued to receive post-operative care and her health was stable after 3 days of surgery.
Severe preeclampsia is a dangerous obstetric emergency condition that can progress more severely and immediately threaten the lives of both mother and fetus if not diagnosed early and treated promptly. One progress that can occur during severe preeclampsia is premature clearing, causing a lot of vaginal bleeding.
