Can Tho Children's Hospital informed that about 5 years ago, baby Dinh Hoang D was hit by a bird bullet in the nose, but because the wound was small and did not feel too much pain, the family thought that the baby had only minor scratches, so they allowed him to heal without intervening. However, recently, baby D began to feel a sharp smell and pain in the nose area, discovering a deep hard mass inside.

After examination by endoscopy and X-ray at Can Tho Children's Hospital, doctors confirmed that there was a metal bullet deep under the nasal mucous membranes.

Doctors successfully performed endoscopic surgery to remove a 4x4mm metal bullet buried under the floor lining of the right nasal cavity without leaving a scar. Currently, the child's health is stable and there are no signs of infection.
Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Linh - Head of Department 3CK - said that a long-forgotten nose foreign object will cause inflammation and leave consequences such as: prolonged bleeding of the nose, prolonged sinuses, necrosis of the nasal mucosa, fiber stuck in the nasal cavity... Therefore, when there are signs of suspected foreign object, parents need to take their children to a medical facility for immediate examination to avoid leaving serious complications.
