Why Green Tea Is Good for Your Brain Health
There are many types of tea that are good for brain health, of which green tea has the most obvious effect.
According to nutritionist Coleen Wysocki of Zest Nutrition, green tea contains polyphenols, a type of antioxidant that can aid memory, especially in middle-aged and older adults.
Los Angeles-based nutritionist Maggie Moon says the flavonoids in green tea help new brain cells grow, keep existing brain cells healthy, and promote blood flow to the brain to nourish it.
Green tea can also improve mood, fight depression and anxiety thanks to an amino acid found in green tea leaves.
How to enjoy green tea
Green tea can be enjoyed hot or cold. If you want a healthy sweetener, you can add honey. Additionally, green tea can be easily added to any of your favorite drinks, including matcha lattes, matcha smoothies, and mint green tea.
