Pharmedic fined 50 million VND for sodium chloride 0.9% eye drops violating level 3

The Drug Administration of Vietnam (Ministry of Health) fined Pharmedic 50 million VND for producing 0.9% sodium chloride eye drops, which was determined to be a level 3 violation.

According to the decision, Pharmedic Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Material Joint Stock Company is headquartered at 367 Nguyen Trai, Cau Ong Lanh ward, Ho Chi Minh City; business location at 1/67 Nguyen Van Qua, Dong Hung Thuan ward, Ho Chi Minh City. The legal representative of the company is Mr. Le Viet Hung, General Director.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam determined that the enterprise had committed violations in the process of producing 0.9% sodium chloride eye drops, registration number 893100060724, batch number 10370725, production date July 14, 2025, expiry date until January 14, 2028.

The above act is identified as a violation of level 3 according to the provisions of the law on pharmaceuticals and administrative sanctions in the field of health.

Based on current regulations, the Drug Administration of Vietnam decided to fine Pharmedic 50 million VND. The enterprise is not subject to additional penalties and is not required to implement remedial measures.

The decision clearly states that there are no aggravating or mitigating circumstances for the enterprise's violation.

Pharmedic is responsible for paying the fine of 50 million VND to the State Treasury of Region I within 10 days from the date of receiving the penalty decision. In case of exceeding the deadline and not voluntarily complying, the enterprise will be subject to enforcement according to regulations. At the same time, for each day of late payment of the fine, the violating organization must pay an additional 0.05% of the total unpaid fine.

The Drug Administration of Vietnam assigned the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health to coordinate the implementation of the decision, and at the same time assigned the Drug Quality Management Department under the Drug Administration of Vietnam to organize the implementation.
