Regarding the information warning and voluntary recall of a number of batches of infant formula products from 0-12 months old bearing the brand a2 Platinum Premium USA in the US market, Vietnamese functional agencies have conducted inspections and reviews of import and business activities of this product nationwide.
On May 4, 2026, the Food Safety Department (Ministry of Health) issued Official Dispatch No. 750/ATTP-SP to the Departments of Health, Food Safety Departments and Sub-Departments of Food Safety and Hygiene of provinces and cities to request a review of product self-declaration and strengthen market inspection and supervision for formula a2 Platinum Premium infant formula 0–12 months Milk-based powder with Iron milk products. At the same time, the Department also sent Official Dispatch No. 749/ATTP-SP to the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) requesting inspection of product business on e-commerce platforms.
According to report No. 480/BC-ATTP of the Ninh Binh Provincial Sub-Department of Food Safety, this unit has never received dossiers for self-declaration of products or issued a Certificate of Receipt of Registration of Product Declaration for formula milk subject to the above warning.
However, Song Lanh Business and Trade Service Solutions Co., Ltd., located in Phu Van ward, Ninh Binh province, is currently being granted 6 Certificates of Receipt of Registration of Product Announcement and self-declaration for 8 milk and supplementary food products bearing the "a2" brand.
Because the warned product has the same "a2" brand, on May 15, 2026, the Ninh Binh Provincial Sub-Department of Food Safety worked with the enterprise to review import and business activities of related products. Through inspection of dossiers and documents provided by the company, functional agencies have not detected the import or business of a2 Platinum Premium USA formula milk product for children from 0-12 months old subject to warnings in the United States.
By May 20, 2026, Song Lanh Business and Trading Solutions Co., Ltd. continued to have a written report affirming that it had reviewed all import records, warehouse data and distribution system. The results showed that the company did not import, do not trade and do not circulate in Vietnam 3 batches of products being voluntarily recalled in the United States.
The enterprise said that the a2 milk products being distributed in Vietnam are other product lines, produced for the Australian and New Zealand markets, not belonging to the warned shipments in the United States. These products are all officially imported, have full legal documents, clear origins, and are controlled by batch codes and distribution systems in accordance with regulations.
After receiving the warning information, the company also proactively sent 8 samples of formula milk products circulating in Vietnam to the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene Testing (Ministry of Health) for testing. The results showed that all samples did not detect Bacillus cereus bacteria - a type of bacteria capable of producing Cereulide toxin - as well as no Cereulide toxin was detected in the test samples.
The Company is committed to continuing to fully comply with the provisions of law on food safety, closely coordinate with functional agencies in inspection, verification and quality management of products, and at the same time be transparent in information and be responsible before the law for the entire content of the report.
