According to doctors, upon admission, both patients were in a state of severe multiple injuries, including spinal cord injury, closed chest injury and multiple soft tissue tears in the lower extremities. These injuries pose a high risk of complications, requiring active monitoring and treatment.
Currently, patients are being treated in intensive care and closely monitored at the hospital. The medical force continues to closely coordinate to ensure the best care conditions, and is ready to respond to unusual developments that may occur.
At about 10:30 am on April 26, at Km 04+200 of the Nien - Na Bai inter-village road (Van Ho commune, Son La), a passenger car carrying 25 people from Hanoi to Van Ho plunged into a low-lying embankment about 100m deep because the driver lost control of the steering wheel on a steep, narrow road.
The accident killed 2 people (1 on the spot, 1 at the hospital), 5 people were seriously injured and 18 people were slightly injured; vehicles were heavily damaged.
Immediately after that, functional forces urgently rescued, took the victims to the emergency room, protected the scene and diverted traffic. The initial cause was determined to be difficult terrain and drivers not familiar with the road; the case is being further investigated.
