As of now, Alcaraz has participated in two ATP tournaments in the 2026 season: the Australian Open Grand Slam 2026 and the Qatar Open 2026.
The Spanish star has won both of those tournaments, currently owning a record of 12 consecutive wins.
Immediately after defeating Arthur Fils with a score of 6-2, 6-1 to win the Qatar Open championship, Alcaraz shared his thoughts on the relationship between him and the sport that brought him to the top.
Passion for tennis
When asked about the most wonderful thing about being a professional tennis player, Alcaraz shared: "I think it's a combination of many things, I'm not lying.
I think it's about love for this sport, love for what you are doing. Obviously that's my job, I get paid to compete, participate in tournaments and win.
But I think there is no feeling greater than doing what I love. That's my feeling.
Of course, fame comes with it, money also comes with it, but for me, the most important thing is that I am living the life I love.
The answer shows the maturity and measurement of Alcaraz, a player who is only 22 years older but has shown superior maturity compared to his age both on and off the court.
Proud to win the Qatar Open for the first time
Although still young, Alcaraz has achieved many achievements in the tennis world, including completing a Career Grand Slam.
He became the youngest player to achieve this achievement when adding the Australian Open 2026 title to his previous collection of six Grand Slam titles.
The Spanish tennis player has won two titles in each other major tournament in the remaining three major tournaments including US Open, Wimbledon and Roland Garros, and he also has a Olympic silver medal.
This 22-year-old player has just made another historic mark in his career in Doha, when he won for the first time at the Qatar Open.
Reacting to this achievement, Alcaraz shared: "The victory here is wonderful. It gives me the feeling that the work is done. I had a memorable week both on and off the field.
Witnessing myself completing all the goals set at the beginning of the week makes me really proud of myself and my team.
To date, Alcaraz has won ATP titles in 14 different countries. The next tournament he participates in is likely Indian Wells. The opportunity for the world No. 1 player to continue to have another title is very high because he was crowned at this tournament in 2023 and 2024.
