In the early morning of February 19 (Vietnam time), Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz won 2-0 against Valentin Royer in the 2nd round of the Qatar Open 2026.

Alcaraz entered the game proactively and quickly controlled the game thanks to powerful baseline shots and flexible movement. The turning point came in the 3rd game when the Spanish player successfully took advantage of the opportunity to break serve to create an advantage.

Royer tried to maintain the pursuit, but continued to lose another service game, thereby helping Alcaraz close the first set with a score of 6-2.

In the 2nd set, Royer played more determinedly and created many difficulties for his opponent. The French player even broke in the 4th game to take the lead. However, Alcaraz quickly regained the game at an important moment when he consecutively broke Royer's service games in the 9th and 11th games, thereby winning 7-5 in this set.

Professional statistics show Alcaraz's superiority when reaching a first serve rate of up to 81%, and effectively taking advantage of 4 out of a total of 8 serve breaks.

With this victory, Carlos Alcaraz advanced to the quarterfinals of the Qatar Open 2026 and will face Karen Khachanov in the next match.
