On the evening of December 19, at the Hanoi Youth Palace, the Vietnam Pride art exchange program took place with the theme "Singing forever the military march" to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024).
At the program, people experienced a project simulating the fighting and growth journey of the Vietnam People's Army using virtual reality technology.
Through images, visual videos, explanations, and scientifically presented documents, users will have an interesting experience, easily grasping information about famous events with strong historical imprints such as Uncle Ho reading the Declaration of Independence, Lam Son 719 Campaign... In particular, users will have the opportunity to experience virtual reality tours (VR360 technology) of historical sites associated with the development journey of our army: Tran Hung Dao Special National Monument, Dien Bien Phu Battlefield Relic Site, Quang Tri Citadel, Phu Van Lau in Hue...
The project also introduces a flipbook and a 3D museum depicting the lives of famous generals such as General Vo Nguyen Giap, General Nguyen Chi Thanh, General Le Trong Tan, General Hoang Van Thai, General Le Duc Anh...
According to Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Tran Huu Huy - an officer of the Institute of Military History, General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, using modern technology to recreate history helps history become more vivid, more honest, closer to the audience and touches the audience's hearts.
"The audience and the experiencer will be very emotional when reviewing historical events using virtual reality technology" - Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Tran Huu Huy emphasized.
Mr. Nguyen Manh Tung - Founder of the open digital platform YooLife - said that the unit used VR360 technology to recreate most of the landmarks associated with the history of the birth and development of the Vietnam People's Army in digital space. In addition to vivid images, each project is supplemented with explanations of historical campaigns.
"This is a very effective approach, instead of just learning through books" - Mr. Tung said.
During the 6 months, the project team traveled to many places in the country to record and recreate historical sites associated with the development journey of the Vietnam People's Army, from the Tran Hung Dao Special National Relic Site (Nguyen Binh, Cao Bang), Dinh Hoa Safe Zone (ATK), Dien Bien Phu Battlefield Relic Site, Quang Tri Citadel, to Phu Van Lau in Hue and Cu Chi Tunnels in Ho Chi Minh City.
With the support of modern technology and creative organization, the project simulating the journey of fighting and growing up of the Vietnam People's Army using virtual reality technology has successfully spread historical values to the young generation. This is not only an Art Exchange event but also a meaningful bridge between the past and the present.
