Chief of the Ukrainian Army General Andriy Hnatov said that the country's forces have deliberately limited the quality of mobile waves in some areas.
According to him, this measure aims to prevent Russian drones from using modems to access the Internet from domestic network providers, thereby reducing the ability to coordinate attacks. He emphasized that this is not a comprehensive telecommunications disruption but a limitation of 4G and 5G connectivity in certain regions.
While Ukraine deploys this strategy, Russia also regularly shuts off mobile network services to deal with enemy UAVs. The two sides continuously use UAVs as their main weapons and at the same time seek to upgrade and intercept the opponent UAVs.
On September 14, the Ukrainian Navy announced that it had attacked the Russian Black Sea fleet's communications center in Sevastopol on the Crimean peninsula. According to Kiev, the attack took place on September 11, aimed at the coordination facility of Russian naval units.
On the same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the country's forces had made progress in Sumy province, and affirmed that the Russian army suffered heavy losses in Donetsk and Kharkiv along the 1,000km long front line.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry said it had intercepted more than 360 Ukrainian UAVs, causing damage to Kiev of more than 1,300 soldiers in just 24 hours. TASS reported that Russia is surrounding Ukrainian forces in the Myrnohrad - Pokrovsk region in Donetsk.
