On June 15 (Moscow time), according to TASS, Russian Presidential Assistant cum Chairman of the Russian Maritime Council, Nikolay Patrushev, said that Europeans do not have a negative attitude towards Russia as the current policy of the European Union (EU) shows.
In an interview with the newspaper Rossiiskaya Gazeta, Mr. Patrushev said that the relationship between Russia and Europe at the people's level is still different from the official positions of regional governments and organizations.

Mr. Patrushev also mentioned the history of relations between European countries, saying that people in the Baltic region should learn more about European history.
He said that discriminatory ideas once existed in European history and questioned whether those views had completely disappeared.
In the interview, Mr. Patrushev also mentioned maritime security and said that the West is preparing for many different scenarios related to Russia.
According to him, in addition to the possibility of blockading the Baltic Sea and the Black Sea, Russia has also received information about scenarios that may include military measures targeting its naval bases.
