This is considered a new step forward in the career of serving the country of the Chief Principess in the Thai Royal Family.
Bangkok Post reported that according to the announcement published in the Royal advertisement on August 20, King of Thailand Maha Vajiralongkorn approved the decision to promote Prince Bajrakitiyabha from the Chief of Staff of the Royal Guard Force under the Royal Security Command to Deputy Commander of the Royal Security Command with the rank of General.
The decision takes effect from August 17.
Principess Bajrakitiyabha, 46, is the eldest daughter of King Maha Vajiralongkorn. Born into a Royal family, the Prince soon showed outstanding abilities in studying and working. She studied at Thammasat University (Thailand), then received her Doctorate in Law from Cornell University (USA). She was Thailand's Ambassador to Austria, Slovenia and Slovakia, and Thailand's Ambassador to the United Nations Committee for Criminal Prevention and Justice.
In the military field, Principess Bajrakitiyabha takes on many important responsibilities in the Royal Guard and the Royal Security Command. The promotion of General and the position of Deputy Commander not only reflects the King's trust but also shows the increasingly important role of the Queen in the Thai Royal security system.
The Royal Security Command is a key unit, responsible for protecting the absolute safety of the King, Queen and members of the Royal Family, and participating in ensuring security at important events of the country.
The fact that a member of the Royal Family directly holds a high position in this agency affirms the special connection between the Royal Family and the Thai Armed Forces.
