According to CNN, mediators from countries in the Middle East are urgently conducting many negotiations by phone to find a way to prevent war after information about the death of 6 Israeli hostages was officially announced on September 1.
Previously, there was also a direct negotiation lasting 2 days between the US, Egypt and Qatar on August 16 in the capital Doha (Qatar) to narrow the gap between Israel and Hamas.
The participants in the negotiations were all leaders of countries, including US Secretary of State Antony Blinken . He also visited Israel and met privately with President Herzog on August 19 to discuss the ceasefire agreement.
They were optimistic about the policy priorities that came out of the negotiations and hoped that they could bring peace to Gaza.
However, both Israel and Hamas rejected these policies. The war continued and became more intense.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu just made a statement on the evening of September 2 (local time) that Israel will not leave the Philadelphia corridor - the disputed area between Israel and Hamas.
On the opposition side, Hamas chief negotiator Khalil Al-Hayya also affirmed that no ceasefire agreement will be signed if the Israel Defense Forces do not withdraw from the Philadelphia corridor. He made this statement on September 1.
The war in Gaza began last October between Israel and Hamas. The war has claimed the lives of some 40,000 innocent people and left 2.3 million homeless.
