The US House of Representatives has now voted to end the longest ever federal government shutdown, by sending the budget bill to reopen the government for President Donald Trump to sign.
The House of Representatives voted on the evening of November 12 to pass a short-term bill to reopen the government after 43 days of closure. The final vote result was 222 favorable - 209 opposite votes.
Returning to Washington after returning from voting in elections since mid-September, almost all Republicans, along with a few House Democrats, voted in favor of the bill.
After being passed, the bill was transferred to President Donald Trump for signing into law.
On the evening of November 12, the White House said that President Donald Trump will publicly sign the government budget bill in front of the media at the Oval Office at 9:45 p.m. local time.
