Iran launches missile directly into city with Israeli nuclear facility

At least 74 people were injured in Dimona, where there is a nuclear facility in southern Israel, after a series of missiles launched from Iran.

The Israeli military confirmed that "an Iranian missile directly hit" a building in the city, where a nuclear research facility is located, according to AFP.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said they are investigating the failure to intercept an Iranian ballistic missile that hit Dimona.

Meanwhile, Iranian military spokesman Ebrahim Zolfaghari informed that the missile attacks on March 21 targeted several US outposts, including Ali Al Salem Air Force Base in Kuwait, Prince Sultan Air Force Base in Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia, and Victory Base in Baghdad.

He also said that missiles were fired at Tel Aviv, Rishon LeZion, and refueling planes at Israel's Ben Gurion Airport.

The Israeli Air Force and the Western Command have launched an investigation into the fact that the air defense system failed to intercept an Iranian missile that hit a residential building in Arad, Dimona.

Health officials have raised the number of injured in the attack to 74, as rescue forces continue to clear the rubble.

Iranian state television said the attack was in response to a previous airstrike on the country's Natanz nuclear complex. However, according to local media, "there are no reports of radiation material leaks" in Iran.

In related developments, US President Donald Trump has rejected the possibility of a ceasefire, saying that US forces "have defeated everything" and asserting "you cannot cease fire when you are actually wiping out the other side".

Russian President Vladimir Putin described Iran as "a loyal and reliable partner" in a New Year's message for Nowruz (Persian New Year) announced by the Kremlin.

Iraq declared a state of force majeure for foreign-run oil fields after disruptions to oil tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz reduced southern crude oil production from about 3.3 million barrels per day to about 900,000 barrels per day.

Drones attacks caused a major fire near a US-linked military complex in Baghdad, while Iran said its drones also targeted military infrastructure at Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv, including fuel depots and refueling points for aircraft.
