The Russian Embassy in Vietnam said that 35 tons of aid to help Vietnam overcome the consequences of Typhoon Yagi were transported to Noi Bai airport by a special plane of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations on the evening of September 20.
The humanitarian aid delivery ceremony took place at the airport with the participation of Russian Charge d'Affaires in Vietnam Ivan Sergeevich Nesterov and Deputy Director of the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control Nguyen Van Tien - representing the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mr. Nesterov expressed his condolences for the consequences of Typhoon Yagi in Northern Vietnam. The Russian Charge d'Affaires affirmed that Russia and Vietnam have a good tradition of mutual support in the most difficult times and periods in history. The handover ceremony of 35 tons of humanitarian aid to disaster victims is another manifestation of the traditional friendship between the people of the two countries over the past 75 years.
The shipment included a mobile power station, food and necessities. The aid was delivered to Lao Cai on the evening of September 20.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tien expressed his deep gratitude for the timely help of Russia for Vietnam in the spirit of traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership of Vietnam - Russia.
