A plane carrying 35 tons of Russian aid to help Vietnam overcome the consequences of Typhoon No. 3 Yagi has arrived in Hanoi.

The Russian Embassy in Vietnam said that 35 tons of aid to help Vietnam overcome the consequences of Typhoon Yagi were transported to Noi Bai airport by a special plane of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations on the evening of September 20.

The humanitarian aid delivery ceremony took place at the airport with the participation of Russian Charge d'Affaires in Vietnam Ivan Sergeevich Nesterov and Deputy Director of the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control Nguyen Van Tien - representing the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mr. Nesterov expressed his condolences for the consequences of Typhoon Yagi in Northern Vietnam. The Russian Charge d'Affaires affirmed that Russia and Vietnam have a good tradition of mutual support in the most difficult times and periods in history. The handover ceremony of 35 tons of humanitarian aid to disaster victims is another manifestation of the traditional friendship between the people of the two countries over the past 75 years.

The shipment included a mobile power station, food and necessities. The aid was delivered to Lao Cai on the evening of September 20.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tien expressed his deep gratitude for the timely help of Russia for Vietnam in the spirit of traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership of Vietnam - Russia.

At the 25th meeting of the Vietnam - Russian Federation Intergovernmental Committee on economic - trade and scientific - technical cooperation on September 11, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Nikolayevich Chernyshenko expressed condolences to the Government and People of Vietnam for the damage caused by storm No. 3.

On September 19, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam Haji Hassanal Bolkiah; Prime Minister of Singapore Lawrence Wong; King of Thailand Maha Vajiralongkorn R., Prime Minister of Thailand Paetongtarn Shinawatra; Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer; Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz; King of Spain Felipe VI; Chairwoman of the European Committee Ursula von der Leyen; King of Norway, President of Uzbekistan, comrades and brothers from the Communist Party of India, Portugal, and France also sent telegrams and letters of condolences and sympathy to Vietnam about the difficulties and huge losses of life and property caused by storm No. 3 that the country and people of Vietnam are suffering.
