With a modern scientific and technical foundation and advanced technology, Russia is always ready to cooperate with Vietnam in developing nuclear power. He affirmed: "Russia has all the necessary and sufficient conditions to meet all cooperation requirements and is ready to accept the invitation from Vietnam. We are waiting for Vietnam's decision."
Ambassador Bezdetko also expressed his satisfaction with the expansion of bilateral relations at various levels, including the highest level, over the past year. The highlight event was the State visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Vietnam in June 2024, creating a clear impetus for cooperation between agencies of the two countries. During the visit, a total of 15 documents were signed to further promote cooperation in the fields of economy, education and training, science and culture.

Russia highly appreciated Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's participation at the BRICS/BRICS Plus Summit in Kazan, Russia in October 2024. On the occasion of the summit, President Vladimir Putin welcomed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, which is clear evidence of the special attention of Russian senior leaders to Vietnam.
Despite sanctions against Russia, economic and trade cooperation has continued to grow. In the first 11 months of 2024, trade turnover between Russia and Vietnam reached 4.15 billion USD, of which exports from Russia to Vietnam were 2.03 billion USD and imports were 2.12 billion USD.
Cooperation in the oil and gas sector is progressing, in June this year, the Vietsovpetro joint venture produced its 250 millionth ton of oil. The solid bilateral relationship and political trust at the highest level are contributing to the strong development of mutually beneficial business cooperation between the two countries. The Vietnam - Russia Industrial Park in Hai Phong can be seen as the basis for forming a center for Russian enterprises and joint ventures. A typical example of Russian production localization in Vietnam with the participation of the two governments is the GAZ Thanh Dat automobile assembly plant, established in 2019. Currently, Russia's leading automobile manufacturer, AvtoVAZ Group, is studying to approach the Vietnamese market.
Along with the automotive industry, another great potential for the development of industrial cooperation between Russia and Vietnam is the medical and pharmaceutical industry, as well as information technology. Cooperation in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors allows Russia to expand its presence and Vietnam will have new possibilities, expanding the range of medicines. In the field of information technology, in Vietnam, a number of high-tech projects of Russian IT enterprises are being successfully applied and implemented in the fields of network information security, smart cities, and digitalization of the banking sector.
The results achieved in 2024 clearly demonstrate the common spirit of the two sides in promoting the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, as well as the closeness or coincidence of the two countries' views on current issues of the regional and international agenda. Ambassador Bezdetko affirmed that Russia is ready to expand practical cooperation with Vietnam in many fields and hopes that the traditional cooperation between the two sides will be strengthened on the basis of agreements at the highest and high levels.
