Russia launched a large-scale missile and drone attack on Ukrainian cities in the early morning of September 20.
The Ukrainian Air Force said that the air defense system shot down 552 drones, 2 ballistic missiles and 29 cruise missiles.
The report said that Russia has launched 579 drones, 8 ballistic missiles and 32 cruise missiles. Direct attacks were reported at 10 locations.
The airstrike warning was activated across Ukraine at around 5:45 a.m. local time and ended at around 7 a.m.
The explosions were recorded in the cities of Pavlohrad and Mykolaiv at around 4:40 a.m. local time, in the first missile attack. Subsequent explosions occurred in Dnipro at 6 a.m.
In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Governor Serhii Lysak initially reported that one person was killed and 26 others were injured in the attack. Several high-rise buildings, houses and garages in Dnipro were damaged in the attack. The fires were also reported in Pavlohrad and Nikopol. He later said that about 40 apartment buildings were damaged and the number of injured increased to 30.
In Khmelnytskyi, Governor Serhii Tiurin said that a man over 50 years old had died and two others were injured.
In Kiev, regional military officials reported airstrikes that were recorded in Bucha, Boryspil and Obukhiv. In Mykolaiv, 10 car garages and 5 cars parked were damaged.
In the context of the attack in Ukraine, the Polish air force mobilized NATO fighter jets to protect Polish airspace.
The attack comes just over a week after a Russian drone believed to be from Russia advanced into Polish airspace.
