For the first time, Gazprom will maintain the Power of Siberia pipeline this spring as scheduled without having to completely stop gas supplies.
"Menterage according to the schedule from March 28 to April 4 has been successfully carried out on the Power of Siberia pipeline without having to stop gas supply. At China's request, Gazprom has maintained the Power of Siberia pipeline facilities by supplying gas during the maintenance period, with specific volumes agreed by the parties," Gazprom said in a statement.
Daily gas supplies from Russia to China via the Power of Siberia pipeline will be increased to the maximum contract level after maintenance is completed as scheduled.

The gas purchase and sale agreement via the eastern pipeline between Russia's Gazprom and China's CNPC states that maintenance of equipment and pipeline systems is carried out twice a year, in spring and fall.
Gazprom began supplying Russian gas to China via the Power of Siberia pipeline in 2019. Russian gas exported to China is sourced from the Chayandinskoye field in Yakutia.
The Kovykttye field in Russia's Irkutsk region was also connected to the Power of Siberia pipeline system in 2022.
The Russia-China gas pipeline will reach a maximum export capacity of 38 billion cubic meters per year in December 2024.
