According to RT, US Vice President J.D. Vance said Russia has refused to participate in bilateral meetings with Ukraine as well as tripartite meetings attended by US President Donald Trump. Speaking in an interview, Mr. Vance said that Russia does not want to sit side by side with the US and Ukraine to promote the peace negotiation process.
Vance said that Russia has repeatedly rejected forms of dialogue in recent weeks, which has increased the stalemate in the peace process. He stressed that President Trump is increasingly impatient with the slow pace of negotiations on Ukraine.
From Moscow, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov affirmed that President Trump's invitation to Moscow is still valid. He said Russian President Vladimir Putin was ready and would be delighted to meet President Trump if the US leader accepted the invitation.
However, Mr. Peskov emphasized that any meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will only take place when the peace process has made a real progress, otherwise it will be just a "failed performance".
Russia insists it still maintains its desire to resolve the Ukrainian conflict through diplomatic channels, but accuses Kiev of pursuing Foreign delivery of the loudspeaker and ignoring peace proposals from Moscow.
