Escaping in the fierce sea
On the morning of September 29, the authorities are urgently searching for 9 missing crew members on 2 sunken fishing boats in the Gianh River area, Bac Trach commune.
Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province Tran Phong and Commander of the Border Guard of Trinh Thanh Binh province were directly present on the rescue boat to direct the search.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Chi (born in 1975, Kien Giang), one of the 4 lucky crew members who escaped the accident, recounted that the time the boat had an accident was in the middle of the night, the waves were very strong, the wind was continuously gusting. When the ship had just dropped anchor and started the engine, it was suddenly hit by strong waves, the ship sank at night.

Many brothers have not had time to wear life jackets, and some who wear life jackets can only let them float on the waves, losing all direction.
According to Mr. Chi, the survival of the 4 people was thanks to luck that the waves washed them ashore. After arriving at shore, they were given medical care by the border guards and their health is now stable. Local authorities have also visited and encouraged to share the difficulties.

As of 11am the same day, the Gianh River estuary area still had big waves and rain, making the search difficult. The Border Guard of Quang Tri province mobilized the BP-07-12-03 ship along with 9 officers and soldiers, the MS-BP-07-15-01 boat with 5 officers and soldiers and 4 mobile teams with 40 people patrolling along the riverbank and coast, expanding the search area for missing crew members.

Meanwhile, the 4 lucky surviving crew members have been given medical care and are in stable health. The Bac Trach commune government visited, encouraged and supported the survivors.
At 9:25 a.m. the same day, the patrol team of Quang Tri Border Guard discovered the BV 92756 TS ship drifting ashore, about 50m from shore in Thanh Hai village, Bac Trach commune, Quang Tri province.
Efforts to find crew members
Colonel Ngo Nam Cuong - Deputy Commander of Military Region 4 said that after receiving initial information from Quang Tri province, the Military Region 4 Command reported to the National Civil Defense Steering Committee and the Deputy Prime Minister.
Immediately afterwards, the Steering Committee directly directed and at the same time, the Military Region 4 Command closely coordinated with Quang Tri province to synchronously and drastically deploy rescue solutions.

The current focus is to mobilize maximum forces and means to search for the missing fishermen. Up to this point, a location of the first sunken ship in the Cua Ong area has been determined. The authorities have contacted the ship owner and related people to clarify the information.

According to the report, there were 13 crew members when the boat had an accident, of whom 4 were lucky enough to swim to shore, while 9 people are currently missing. The search is being expanded with a radius of 15-20km along the coast, from the central area of Cua Ong to the two sides, mobilizing the army, police and people to participate.

At the same time, rescue vehicles were deployed to the area of the sunken ship to survey the mobile route, preparing conditions for the ship to be salvaged soon. This is to promptly detect and rescue in case there are still crew members trapped inside.
