According to information from the Madrid Emergency Force, the incident occurred on Manuel Maroto Street, Puente de Vallecas District, at around 3pm on September 13 (local time).
The explosion was believed to be caused by "gat accumulation," according to a spokesman for the city's fire department.

Many units of the Madrid Community Emergency Medical Service (SUMMA 112) have also been mobilized.
Meanwhile, the Madrid City Police's Aviation Support Team is using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to provide assistance.
