A serious accident occurred at the launching ceremony of a new Tory fishing axis while leader Kim Jong-un was watching the ceremony, North Korean state news agency KCNA reported.
The event, attended by North Korean leaders, took place at Chongjin port on May 21.
According to KCNA, the incident occurred due to imbalance when the ship was launched. Some parts of the ship's bottom were crushed.
Xinhua News Agency reported that a serious accident occurred with a new 5,000-ton ship of North Korea.
Accordingly, during the downstream ceremony at the shipyard in Chongjin, the slide on the tail of the ship has started first and trapped by the sliding carriages without moving in parallel, causing some parts at the bottom of the ship to be crushed, imbalance the ship and causing the nose to leave the slide.
Mr. Kim Jong-un has monitored the entire incident process and made a strict assessment, saying that this was a serious accident and a crime stemming from recklessness, irresponsibility and unscientific experimentalism, KCNA said.
According to North Korea's state news agency, leader Kim Jong-un has requested the restoration of the ship ahead of the scheduled Labor Party Central Committee meeting in June.
