British Prime Minister Liz Truss speaks out on leaving office

    British Prime Minister Liz Truss spoke outside 10 Downing Street before going to Buckingham Palace, meeting King Charles III and submitting his resignation.

    Ms. Liz Truss said that becoming the UK Prime Minister is a "huge honor". She said her government has taken "urgent action and determinedly stood side by side with hard-working families and businesses."

    As prime minister, I was more convinced than ever that we needed to be bold, she said.

    On the future, Prime Minister Liz Truss said that the UK "cannot become a low-growth country" and "we need to take advantage of our breach of trade unions".

    According to Ms. Truss, the UK should continue to support Ukraine.

    "I wish Mr. Rishi Sunak success in everything for the country," Prime Minister Lizz Truss said in his resignation speech.

    The UK's shortest-serving prime minister in the history of the UK, having only served for 44 days, also thanked his supporters.

    "I believe in the British people, and I know that brighter days are ahead," she concluded.

    According to Sky News, British Prime Minister Liz Truss' resignation speech was 3 minutes and 6 seconds long, slightly longer than the 5-minute resignation announcement on October 20.
