Mr Zelensky has failed to convince the new US administration to continue providing financial and military aid to Ukraine and not continue to be close to Russia. The relationship between the US and Ukraine, between Mr. Trump and Mr. Zelensky personally, has already had new problems from before until now, and has clearly deteriorated.
This happened right at a time when the new US administration clearly showed its non-priority to the EU and NATO, while deliberately linking up with Russia as well as working with Russia to find a solution to end the conflict in Ukraine. It is not difficult to understand why Russia benefits the most from the above new moves in relations between the US and its allies and partners in Europe. In the context of such a general situation, the agreement between the US and Ukraine on the US being accessed, exploiting and using abundant natural resources in Ukraine occupying a very special position. Since last year, Mr. Zelensky has proactively invited foreign countries to cooperate with Ukraine in exploiting and exploiting Ukraine's natural resources. Mr. Zelensky's plan is that external partners, especially the US and EU and NATO members in Europe with great demand for minerals, especially rare earths, oil and gas in Ukraine, will support the country in defeating Russia.
The great and practical benefits in Ukraine will encourage Ukraine's security. For the US, Mr. Zelensky intentionally exchanged the mineral agreement with the new Washington administration based on the US commitment to ensuring security for Ukraine, agreeing to allow Ukraine to join NATO and continue providing financial and military aid to Ukraine as it has been for a long time. If the US continues to provide aid to Ukraine, the EU, NATO and Ukraine will have a huge difficulty and discomfort in both continuing and ending the conflict. The mineral deal is essentially a concession of Ukraine to hold on to the US and seize the new US administration.
Mr. Trump wants this deal to be known as someone who is capable of always creating solutions to problems, while at the same time, the solutions are always beneficial to the United States. The agreement is evidence that Ukraine must pay the price to continue to be supported by the US and a message to US allies in Europe as well as Ukraine to take care of ensuring the security of the continent and help Ukraine fight alongside Russia.
The big deal is currently unsuccessful but can still be successful in the near future. In any case, Ukraine is at a disadvantage and Europe is forced to wake up, to build true internal solidarity and unity.
