According to AFP, the shooting occurred in the early morning of August 30 (local time) at the racetrack in Aarau, north of Zurich, Switzerland - where the annual "Aarauer Rave" electronic music festival is taking place.
Local police said 1 person died at the scene. 5 others, aged 24-27, were taken to the hospital for treatment with injuries ranging from minor to severe.
Currently, the identity and motive of the perpetrator have not been determined. The search is being urgently carried out by functional forces.
The military dispatched 1 helicopter, while many police, rescue workers and medical teams were mobilized to the scene and surrounding areas to search for suspects, while strengthening security.
Local media quoted police spokeswoman Vanessa Rumpold as saying: "Many shots were fired between a large group of people." Some witnesses also said they heard many continuous gunshots.
It is estimated that about 3,500 people attended the festival taking place from the afternoon of August 29 to the morning of August 30.
The area around the shooting scene was sealed off on August 30.
