Shooting in Canada, 7 casualties

The shooting occurred during the annual Latin festival in downtown Toronto (Canada), police are searching for clues about the suspect.

On July 11 (local time), 5 people were injured and 2 people were confirmed dead after a shooting in Toronto, according to an emergency police warning posted on X.

Canadian police said that officers found 5 people injured by bullets. Two victims were confirmed dead at the scene. The condition of the remaining victims has not been determined immediately.

According to AFP, the shooting occurred in the Midtown area of Toronto during the Salsa on St. Clair festival, an annual Latin cultural festival.

Authorities called on people to stay away from this area and comply with all police instructions while investigation and response work is still ongoing.

A Toronto Police spokesman declined to provide further information beyond what was posted on the department's official website on social network X, saying updates would be released when more information is available. No details have been released yet about the suspects, motives or arrests.
