RT reported that on December 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the launching ceremony of two completely new fourth-generation nuclear attack attack subscribers at the Sevmash Shipyard, Severodvinsk City, northern Russia.
In the near future, the Imperial Alexander III and Krasnoyarsk missiles will begin serving in the Pacific fleet, Putin said, describing the substances as terrifying and unpar real.
The Alexander III is the seventh of the strategic Borei-class ships and the fourth of the upgraded Borei-A variants. Meanwhile, Krasnoyarsk is the fourth in the multi-functional Yasen-M class family.
Mr. Putin added that 3 more Borei-A class destroyers are under construction and are expected to be launched in the next few years, along with 5 other Yasen-M ships under construction.
The Borei-class destroyers are the backbone of the Russian strategic naval force, each carrying 16 solid-fuel intercontinental Bulava ballistic missiles with a range of 8,000 km.
The ships are also equipped with six giant 533 mm golf clubs as secondary weapons, along with weapons capable of launching various types of shells, including cruise missiles and golf clubs.
The Yasen-M Submarine Sea will take on more tactical roles in the Navy. The ships of this class are capable of carrying many types of ammunition.
The Yasen-M Submarine has 10 533 mm fishing tubes and 8 vertical launch systems. Each launcher could be equipped with four Oniks anti-ship missiles or the new Zircon hypersonic bullet introduced earlier this year.
The vertical launchers can also carry up to 5 kaliber cruise missiles per launcher.
