As of 12:00 on December 18, the Vietnam Sports Delegation still holds the third place on the SEA Games medal rankings. After the completed events, the Vietnamese athletes won a total of 229 medals, including 66 gold medals, 69 silver medals and 95 bronze medals.

The top spot in the group continues to belong to the Thai Sports Delegation. With 185 gold medals and a large number of silver and bronze medals (120 silver, 80 bronze), the home team is creating a significant gap compared to the groups chasing behind.

Right behind Thailand is Indonesia. The sports delegation of the archipelago has 73 gold medals, 86 silver medals and 94 bronze medals, thereby maintaining second place in the total rankings.

The remaining positions in the top belong to the delegations of Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines. Followed by Myanmar, Laos, Brunei and Timor Leste.
