To celebrate the 101st anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21), Vietnamese Family Day (June 28), and at the same time spread the spirit of physical training, building a healthy and sustainable community, Construction Newspaper organizes the "Steady Steps to Create the Future" Running Tournament.

The race took place on June 28, on the coastal road of Vung Tau, belonging to Vung Tau ward, Ho Chi Minh City with a scale of about 4,000 professional and amateur athletes from many localities across the country.
With the theme "Steady steps to build the future", through each step of the athlete, the event conveys a message about the journey of building infrastructure, developing modern urban areas, building a civilized, quality and more livable living environment for people.
The highlight of the tournament is the team competition content for units in the construction industry, contributing to creating the unique identity of the event, promoting the spirit of solidarity, cooperation and promoting collective strength.
At the same time, the race is also an opportunity to honor the contributions of architects, engineers, contractors, construction workers, businesses operating in the fields of urban development, transport infrastructure, logistics, real estate and many organizations and individuals who are directly contributing to creating a modern and civilized urban appearance for Vietnam.
The event also contributes to promoting the local image, promoting Vung Tau tourism development, raising awareness about the role of infrastructure investment in socio-economic growth and strengthening the connection between state management agencies, businesses and people in the process of national development.

Mr. La Duc Hung, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Xay Dung Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee, said that the race is organized in the form of road running with three distances including 5km, 10km and 21km (Half Marathon). Participants are Vietnamese citizens and foreigners who meet age and health conditions according to the regulations of the Organizing Committee; officials, civil servants, public employees, laborers; representatives of businesses, organizations, sports clubs; professional and amateur athletes.
According to the plan, athletes participating in the 21km distance will start at 4:00 AM, the 10km distance at 4:30 AM and the 5km distance at 5:00 AM on June 28. The maximum completion time is 3:30 AM for the 21km distance, 2 hours for the 10km distance and 1 hour for the 5km distance respectively.
Athletes participating in the race will be provided with Race Kits including jerseys, BIB badges, electronic timekeeping chips and items from sponsors.
On the track, the Organizing Committee arranges full water supply points, medical support and necessary service conditions to ensure safety and quality of competition. All athletes who complete the registered distance legally will be awarded the Finishing Medal.
The race has a total prize value of more than 220 million VND with 51 categories for individuals and teams with outstanding achievements. In which, the main prize system for the 5km, 10km and 21km distances has a total value of 142 million VND and in-kind gifts are a pair of running shoes/sandals.
For the 21km distance, the first prize for men and women is worth 8 million VND/prize, the second prize is 7 million VND/prize and the third prize is 6 million VND/prize; and the first prize is awarded to age groups under 30, from 30 to under 40, from 40 to under 50 and from 50 years old and over with a prize of 3 million VND/prize.
In the 10km distance, the first prize for men and women is worth 7 million VND/prize, the second prize is 6 million VND/prize, the third prize is 4 million VND/prize; the first prize for age groups as above receives 2 million VND/prize. For the 5km distance, the first prize for men and women is worth 6 million VND/prize, the second prize is 4 million VND/prize and the third prize is 3 million VND/prize.
In addition, the Organizing Committee allocated 30 million VND for the Journalist Award category to encourage journalists to participate in physical training, with the highest prize levels of 7 million VND/prize (21km); 5 million VND/prize (10km) and 3 million VND/prize (5km). Sub-prizes such as cosplay, "running with the roof" have a total value of 13 million VND.
For the team category, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to collectives with outstanding achievements of the Construction industry and clubs. Specifically, the first team prize for the 21km distance is worth 8 million VND/prize; the 10km distance is worth 6 million VND/prize; the 5km distance is worth 5 million VND/prize (similarly applied to both the Construction Industry system and the Open system), with a total team prize value of 38 million VND.
The professional work of the tournament is carried out according to the current regulations of the Vietnam Athletics Federation. The tournament operates according to professional standards with an electronic timekeeping system (chiptime), time control points, professional referee teams and medical, rescue, security and traffic regulation forces are arranged synchronously to ensure safety for athletes and people throughout the event.
The Organizing Committee recommends that athletes proactively check their health status before participating and fully comply with the regulations of the tournament.
