The Vietnamese women's team ended the first half of the match against Indonesia at the 2025 Southeast Asian Women's Football Championship with a 2-0 lead, but faced personnel losses when midfielder Duong Thi Van was injured and taken to the emergency room.
Right after the opening whistle, coach Mai Duc Chung's students quickly took control of the game, creating a series of dangerous opportunities.
In the 5th minute, Huynh Nhu's header hit the crossbar. In the 25th minute, Bich Thuy opened the scoring with a drop shot and finished accurately diagonally.
Three minutes later, Hoang Thi Loan increased the score to 2-0 when the cross from the left wing made the Indonesian goalkeeper confused and let the ball go straight into the net.
However, in the 21st minute, Duong Thi Van was forced to leave the field due to injury and gave way to Hai Linh. After that, the female player was taken directly to the hospital for examination, the severity of which was unknown.
The first half ended with the overwhelming position of the Vietnam women's team, promising more goals in the next 45 minutes, but the concern about the strength is present when the team lost an important pillar in the midfield.
