On the afternoon of March 10, a press conference was held in Hanoi to announce the VTV Phu Quoc Marathon 2025. This is a tournament organized by Vietnam Television, the Department of Culture and Sports of Kien Giang province, the Vietnam Athletics Federation in coordination with Lions Entertainment and Vietcontent units.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Do Thanh Hai - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television said: "With the help of the units, the organizing committee hopes to spread the message of marine environment, tourism as well as promote Phu Quoc. This year's tournament has been professionally prepared and invested in, certainly reaching a high level, bringing a wonderful experience to athletes as well as the audience.
We hope that the tournament will leave many impressions, achieve high professional quality and hope to carry meaningful messages".
VTV Phu Quoc Marathon 2025 takes place on the occasion of Hung Vuong's Commemoration Day holiday, with the main running day on April 6 at Phu Quoc Pearl Island, Kien Giang province.
The race includes 4 distances: 42km, 21km, 10km and 5km. The route is considered airy, wide, with few slopes and flatteness, passing through high-class resorts to help athletes fully experience the beauty of Phu Quoc.
The Vietnam national athletics team has 4 members participating in the tournament: Nguyen Thi Oanh, Bui Thi Thu Ha, Nguyen Trung Cuong and Luong Duc Phuoc.
Another special feature of the prize structure is the category of Breaking the National Record for 2 distances of 21km (25 million VND) and 42km (50 million VND).
The event fully combines sports - relaxation - music enjoyment to create a classy experience. In particular, the Live Concert at Grand World Sea Square brings together leading singers such as Ha Nhi, Lan Nha, Tang Phuc.
Mr. Nguyen Van Sau - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Kien Giang province said: "Current facilities and conditions meet the requirements of organizing the tournament well. The People's Committee and the sports industry of Kien Giang province always support the tournament, having experience in coordinating the organization of many tournaments before, most recently successfully organizing tournaments in 3 coordinated sports.
Kien Giang province hopes to successfully organize the upcoming marathon and continue to upgrade it to an annual tournament in the coming years, improving quality and scale".
