Information from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Nong province said that the unit has coordinated with Dak Mil and Krong No districts to inspect the drought and water shortage for agricultural production.
Through inspection, these two areas have entered the peak of drought and more than 2,000 hectares of crops are at risk of being seriously affected by water shortage. Of which, mainly coffee and short-term crops.
In the face of the above situation, the Department of Agriculture and Environment requested Dak Nong Irrigation Works Exploitation Company Limited to implement a plan to pump water to prevent drought in Dak Mil and Krong No districts.
Currently, the company has pumped water from Doi 1 Lake to Lake 40 to supplement irrigation water for crops in Dak Mil District.
In addition, the company also develops a water source regulation plan between irrigation works in Dak Mil and Dak Song to supplement water sources to Dak Son stream.
Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Nong province, said that the unit has requested the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board to speed up the completion of the water pumping station from Doi 1 Lake to Lake 40, to increase the ability to supply water to the drought-affected area.
