Today (February 13), the Vietnamese cycling team including athletes Nguyen Dan Binh, Phung Quoc Ha, Dang Van Phap, and Pham Anh Hao competed in the mass start event for the young men's team at the 2025 Asian Road Cycling Championship.
This distance has a route of 117.7 km and is considered difficult to compete with many strong opponents.
During the race, a group of cyclists collided with each other, including Nguyen Dan Binh of the Vietnamese team. Dan Binh fell and had to leave the track. According to the initial diagnosis, he suffered injuries to his shoulder and ankle.
The Vietnamese team's coaching staff took the athlete to the hospital for examination and are awaiting detailed injury results.
Nguyen Dan Binh's bicycle had a broken frame. Because the bike was borrowed from the host country, Thailand, the Vietnamese team had to pay for a new frame.

At the end of the mass start event for the junior men's team, Yip Hon Man won the gold medal, Mirbagheri (Iran) won the silver medal, and Sakuntae Thanapat (Thailand) won the bronze medal.
Dang Van Phap is the Vietnamese racer with the best result, finishing 7th overall.
After 6 days of competition, the Vietnamese cycling team won 2 gold medals in the amateur category of Ton Hoang Khanh Lan (women) and Hoang Hai Nam (men).
The 2025 Asian Road Cycling Championship will take place from February 7 to 16 in Phitsanulok, Thailand. Before the tournament started, the Vietnamese road cycling team had an unfortunate accident when a vehicle carrying competition equipment, including about 30 specialized competition bicycles, caught fire.
The Thai Cycling Association and the Vietnam Cycling and Motor Sports Federation have taken timely steps to support the Vietnamese road cycling team so that they have enough equipment to compete.
