The Asian Volleyball Federation changed the way clubs participate in the AVC Champions League 2026 (held in February) by organizing qualifying rounds in regions.
The representative of Vietnam with a ticket to participate in the qualifying round is Bien Phong MB team. However, this club did not participate. The Vietnam Volleyball Federation has received this ticket to plan to participate for the Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team.
However, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team did not gather in February, so we are not present in the AVC Champions League 2026 qualifiers.
This year, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation also built 2 international arenas for male players, which are the SEA V.League 2026 and ASIAD 20.
SEA V.League 2026 organizes 2 legs in Thailand and Indonesia in July, and ASIAD 20 takes place in Japan in September.
This year, the 2026 Asian Championship will be held. However, the Asian Volleyball Federation has identified 12 teams eligible to participate and there is no Vietnam Men's Volleyball Team.
The most recent international tournament of the Vietnamese men's volleyball team was SEA Games 33 in Thailand. Here, coach Tran Dinh Tien's team ranked 4th.
This year, the SEA V.League 2026 will have 6 participating teams including Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia and Myanmar. The Vietnamese men's volleyball team has the opportunity to meet opponents they once faced at SEA Games 33.
According to the plan, it is likely that the Vietnamese men's volleyball team will participate in ASIAD 20 with socialized funding.
