The Lao Football Federation (LFF) on the evening of January 2 confirmed the termination of the contract with coach Ha Hyeok-jun.
According to an announcement from the LFF, the two sides reached an agreement to terminate the contract after a long period of cooperation from August 2024. The Lao Football Federation acknowledged the contributions of coach Ha Hyeok-jun in the period leading the national teams, and sent wishes for his health and success in his upcoming coaching career.
Coach Ha Hyeok-jun takes on the role of head coach of the Lao national team and U23 Laos in the context that the country's football faces many difficulties in terms of force as well as achievements. In more than 1 year of working, he focused on building an organized playing style, improving tactical discipline and improving the fighting spirit for the players.
Under the leadership of the Korean coach, the Lao team showed certain changes in their approach to the match. One of the notable results is the 2-2 draw against Indonesia at the ASEAN Championship 2024, which is considered a positive milestone for Lao football in the context of increasingly fierce competition in Southeast Asia.
