Entering the 33rd SEA Games final on the afternoon of December 18, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team showed great determination in the goal of conquering the gold medal that Vietnamese women's futsal has missed many times. Previously, the team had participated in the SEA Games finals 5 times but all stopped against Thailand.
In the context of host Thailand being unexpectedly eliminated in the semi-finals, Vietnamese women's futsal took advantage of the opportunity to affirm their strength. From the first minutes, the Vietnamese players took the initiative, continuously applying pressure and quickly imposing the game against Indonesia.
The game was decided in the first half. Thanh Ngan shined with a double goal, while Thuy Trang and K'Thua scored in turn, helping the Vietnamese women's futsal team lead 4-0 after 20 minutes of play. In the second half, the team continued to maintain a solid game and scored another goal thanks to Nguyet Vi, ending the resounding victory of 5-0.
The 33rd SEA Games championship title not only has the meaning of achievement but also marks a historic milestone for Vietnamese women's futsal in the regional arena. This gold medal is a worthy reward for the investment process, perseverance in building a force and continuous efforts of the coaching staff and players.
The victory of Vietnamese women's futsal also contributed significantly to the overall achievements of the Vietnam Sports Delegation at the 33rd SEA Games, while opening up new expectations for the development of women's futsal in the coming time.
