On the morning of April 26, in the East Sea Park area (Da Nang City), the AirAsia RedRun Danang 2026 - Champion21 race, held for the first time in Vietnam, attracted nearly 8,000 athletes from home and abroad to participate, marking the impressive start of a series of regional-scale sports and tourism events.

The race is an activity in response to World Intellectual Property Day 2026 launched by the World Intellectual Property Organization with the message "Intellectual Property and Sports: Ready for Innovation".
The event contributes to raising awareness about the role of intellectual property in the field of sports, while promoting the health training movement in the community.
A representative of AirAsia airline said that Da Nang was chosen as the starting point for the RedRun 2026 journey, and also the opening leg of the year's series of races, showing the orientation of connecting tourism - sports in the region.

The tournament includes distances of 5km, 10km and 21km, with the participation of a large number of international athletes. As a result, in the 21km half marathon, athlete Trinh Minh Tam won the first prize for men with a time of 1 hour 14 minutes 02 seconds; athlete Le Thi Lam won the first prize for women with a time of 1 hour 21 minutes 54 seconds.
In the 10km distance, athletes Tran Ba Cuong and Bui Thi Ngan respectively won first prizes for men and women. Meanwhile, the 5km distance recorded the victory of Mai Quy Phong (male) and Le Thi Tuyet (female).

According to the organizers, the organization of the race is not only of sports significance but also an activity to promote the image of Da Nang - a dynamic and friendly tourist destination - to international friends, and at the same time open up opportunities to bring marathons in Vietnam closer to regional and global scale.
