Vietnam is the first to host a series of Asian standard marathons in three Indochina countries: Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia.

According to the announcement, the Viettel Marathon 2024 will take place with three stages at famous attractions in three Indochina countries.
The opening stage will be held in Luang Prabang, Laos on November 3, 2024. The second leg will take place in Hanoi, Vietnam on December 1, 2024, and the final leg will take place in Angkor Wat, Cambodia on December 22, 2024.
In its first organization, the tournament will attract 25,000 participants from host countries and around the world, with four competition distances: marathon (42.195km), half marathon (21.0975km), 10km and 5km.

The prize structure includes two main competition systems: advanced system and movement system. Advanced system for professional athletes and high-performance athletes. The movement system is open to all non-advanced athletes, with prizes divided by age group and distance.
In addition to the two main competition systems, the tournament also has special categories such as Viettel Marathon Golden Club and Viettel Marathon Golden Team. The club category will award a special prize to the club with the greatest total distance completed, with a total prize fund of up to 90 million VND for the Vietnam leg, 90 million VND for the Cambodia leg, and 40 million VND. million VND for the Laos leg.
The top clubs in all three legs will receive the Viettel Marathon Diamond Club award with a prize fund of up to 250 million VND. The team category will award prizes to the running teams with the lowest achievements in the marathon distance, with a total prize fund of up to 237 million VND.
