According to the draw results, boxer Hoang Thi Tinh (ranked 86 in the world) will face boxer Oumaima Bedioui (Tunisia, ranked 38 in the world) in the women's 48kg weight class. Vietnamese female athletes are predicted to face many difficulties against opponents 48 places higher.
In less than 1 minute, the boxer from Africa took the lead with 1 Waza-ari point. Hoang Thi Tinh then played hard to find an opportunity to turn the situation around but it was ineffective. She was able to withstand Bedioui's attacks, but was unable to strike.
