On September 22, the Disciplinary Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) issued a decision to sanction center-back Huynh Tan Sinh of Dong Nai City Club related to the foul situation against striker Nguyen Dinh Bac of Hanoi Police in round 3 of V.League 2026-2027.
The situation occurred in the 78th minute of the match between Dong Nai City and Hanoi Police at Binh Phuoc Stadium on September 20. When competing for the ball in the midfield area, Huynh Tan Sinh made a tackle from behind, causing Dinh Bac to lose his post and fall to the ground.
Referee Le Vu Linh at that time only showed a yellow card to Huynh Tan Sinh. After the match, the tournament organizers summarized images and related documents to transfer to the VFF Disciplinary Committee for consideration.
After considering the case, the VFF Disciplinary Committee determined that Huynh Tan Sinh's actions were unsportsmanlike and violent. This player was fined 10 million VND and suspended from playing for the next 2 matches at tournaments organized by VFF.
The VFF Disciplinary Committee's penalty was issued after Dong Nai City Club also applied internal disciplinary measures to Huynh Tan Sinh and Le Van Son.
Previously, Le Van Son was sent off from the 16th minute after elbowing Dinh Bac. Dong Nai City Club fined each player 20 million VND. Huynh Tan Sinh was suspended from internal competition for another match.
The two players then admitted their mistakes to the board of directors, coaching staff and teammates, and committed to adjusting their behavior in the near future.
In the match mentioned above, having to play with one less player early caused many difficulties for Dong Nai City. Coach Nguyen Viet Thang's team then suffered a 0-3 defeat to Cong An Hanoi.
