On April 28, the Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation for the VIII term (2026-2031) took place in Hanoi. This is a congress to review all activities in the 2021-2026 period, and at the same time build development orientations suitable to the high-performance sports strategy in the coming time.
According to the election results, Mr. Duong Manh Tien was trusted to hold the position of President of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation. The Vice President positions include Ms. Tran Thuy Chi, Mr. Vu Quang Huy, Mr. Le Tri Truong and Mr. Pham Ngoc Son.

In addition, Mr. Le Tri Truong continues to assume the role of Secretary General of the Federation, along with two Deputy Secretaries General, Mr. Dao Xuan Chung and Mr. Tran Thanh Tung.
In the previous term, Vietnamese volleyball recorded many positive results at the regional and continental levels. SEA Games achievements include 1 gold medal, 4 silver medals and 4 bronze medals. In the Asian arena, the teams won 4 more titles at tournaments belonging to the AVC system, in addition to 2 silver medals in the Southeast Asian youth beach event.
Notably, the Vietnamese women's team won the right to participate in the world championship in 2025 for the first time, showing outstanding progress in expertise.
In parallel with achievements, the domestic competition system continues to be maintained with national championships, youth and beach tournaments. Some adjustments to the format have been applied, including reducing the number of teams in the national championship to improve professional quality.

Stepping into the new term, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation sets specific goals in major arenas.
At SEA Games 34, Vietnamese volleyball aims to win at least one gold medal. At ASIAD 2026, the women's team strives to be in the top 4 strongest teams, the men's team aims to be in the top 8. In addition, the women's team is also oriented to compete in the leading group in Asia and seek opportunities to participate in world-level tournaments.
To implement this plan, the Federation plans to strengthen training for coaches and referees, update international competition rules, and expand cooperation and seek socialized resources.
The application of sports science and medicine in training is also identified as one of the focuses to improve competition efficiency in the coming period.
