The participation of many airlines along with increasing operating capacity at the airport helps passengers have more choices.
Ms. Mai Thu Huyen (Dai Mo ward, Hanoi) said that initially she did not plan to travel during the holidays because she was worried about being crowded. However, close to the holiday, relatives in Ho Chi Minh City continuously invited her to play, so she decided to find tickets.
On April 28, when looking to book air tickets for the Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City route on April 30, Ms. Huyen was quite surprised when there were still many options from airlines to the time frame. Ticket prices were not as high as predicted.
A survey by Lao Dong Newspaper reporters on April 28 showed that flights from Noi Bai to Tan Son Nhat during peak season are still quite diverse, no longer experiencing serious shortages as in previous years.
The economy ticket price ranges from 1,358,000 VND to over 4 million VND, depending on the airline and time frame (the above price does not include taxes and fees).

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, to meet the increasing travel demand during the April 30 - May 1 holiday of 2026, Tan Son Nhat International Airport has proactively and synchronously implemented many solutions to optimize operational capacity and improve service quality.
Passenger terminal T3 at Tan Son Nhat airport, officially opened from April 2025, is showing clear effectiveness in improving service capacity. The terminal is oriented to operate flexibly, modernly, taking digital transformation as a driving force to increase operating capacity.
The airport also coordinates with the Southern Flight Management Company to design and standardize taxiways in the aircraft parking area, shorten taxiway occupancy time, and improve overall operational efficiency.
In particular, the application of the A-CDM decision-making coordination model has helped each flight save an average of 1.2 to 1.5 minutes of travel. With more than 255,000 take-offs and landings per year, this solution not only improves operational efficiency but also contributes to reducing fuel consumption and protecting the environment.
Tan Son Nhat Port is also promoting the application of technology with a cashless toll collection system, real-time aircraft and passenger monitoring software, upgrading information technology infrastructure, applying the CUTE/CUPPS common procedure system and improving the FIDS system to shorten processing time.
Along with that, functional forces are strengthened to support passengers during peak hours, helping the process of completing procedures to be faster and more convenient.
The airport closely coordinates with the Southern Airport Authority, Border Gate Police, and Southern Flight Management Company to strictly monitor aviation security and safety regulations, ensuring smooth flight operations.
Parking lots and traffic diversion are also flexibly reviewed to avoid congestion. Free utilities such as wifi and drinking water are always maintained. Luggage carts and collection personnel are maximized during peak hours.
In addition, non-aviation service providers, taxis, and technology vehicles are committed to publicly listing prices and maintaining service quality.
Airlines are required to arrange representatives to be on duty at counters and departure gates to promptly support passengers in case of delays or cancellations, ensuring security and order throughout the holidays.
